From Plumpton to the Sussex coast, our team helps Luna Hut Saunas settle into its new beachfront home.
Some transport jobs are a little more unusual than others, and this recent project for our friends at Luna Hut Saunas certainly brought something different to the schedule.
Our driver Rob was tasked with helping relocate one of Luna Hut’s specialist sauna units from Plumpton in East Sussex to its new coastal home in Eastbourne.
With careful lifting, secure transportation and precise positioning all part of the job, our team helped ensure the sauna arrived safely and was placed ready for the next stage of its beachfront life.
And as Rob’s photos show, it certainly wasn’t your everyday delivery!
Bringing a Little Heat to the Eastbourne Seafront
Luna Hut Saunas has been helping people across Sussex discover the benefits of combining traditional sauna experiences with the great outdoors.
Its Eastbourne location sits on the town’s Main Resort Beach, close to the iconic Wish Tower, with views towards the pier and the beautiful Sussex coastline.
The location offers a Finnish-style communal sauna experience, with visitors able to enjoy the warmth of the sauna alongside refreshing cold plunges, sea swimming and time spent relaxing by the coast.
Luna Hut also offers private hire for groups and wellness events, providing a fantastic opportunity to unwind in a rather special seaside setting.
You can discover more about the location and book a session on the Luna Hut Eastbourne website.
Specialist Transport for Something a Little Different
Moving a complete sauna unit isn’t quite the same as delivering a standard pallet or everyday building materials.
Specialist structures need to be handled carefully throughout their journey, particularly when lifting and positioning form part of the overall operation.
For this relocation, our team used one of our HIAB crane-equipped vehicles together with a specialist spreader bar to carefully lift and position the sauna unit.
The spreader bar helps distribute the lifting forces across the designated lifting points, providing a more controlled and balanced lift while reducing the risk of unnecessary pressure on the structure. It’s an important piece of lifting equipment for loads where protecting the structure is just as important as getting it into position.
From collection in Plumpton and securing the load for transport through to the final lift on Eastbourne seafront, the job required careful handling and attention to detail throughout.
It’s another example of how our specialist haulage and HIAB lifting services can support the movement of modular buildings, cabins, specialist structures and unusual loads.
Supporting Sussex Businesses, One Move at a Time
One of the things we enjoy most about our work is the variety of businesses and projects we get to support.
From construction sites and industrial machinery to event structures and, in this case, a beachside sauna, no two days are quite the same.
It’s particularly rewarding when we’re supporting another Sussex business as it develops its services and reaches new customers.
Luna Hut’s approach to relaxation and wellbeing is a little different from our usual working day, but we can certainly appreciate the appeal of taking some time out, enjoying the sea air and warming up after a cold dip!
The Luna Hut website also explores the potential benefits of regular sauna use, including relaxation, muscle recovery and the hot-cold-rest routine often associated with contrast therapy.
