Moving House – Using Containers Vs Removal Vans

When moving house, there is a huge list of things to prepare and to plan. Getting these working in sync and sometimes on the same day is an incredibly stressful experience. In fact, 62% of people claimed that moving house is the most stressful event they have experienced, moreso than a relationship breakup or starting a new job.

Everyone is looking at ways to simplify the process of moving house and remove as much stress as possible. One way to not only save stress but also money is to look at how you are going about the move.

If you picture a stereotypical moving day, almost always it involves a team of removal men, or perhaps close friends helping you move – but always with removal vans; Transit vans, Luton vans etc. This means trying to shoe-horn your possessions into the vehicles, sometimes on multiple journeys and we haven’t even begun to think of what to do with the possessions/furniture that you have decided to get rid of!

Now, picture the same process using a Container. You simply pay for the hire of the container which offers a much larger space than a van would allow (a container starts at a minimum 10ft long) where all your household items can be stored. All you then do is pay another fee for transporting the container from where you are to where you want to be.

One major benefit is time: You can hire the container for as long as you need and can then move at your own pace. If you want to move over the course of a few weeks, taking your time to carefully plan and move things then you have that freedom. What’s more, a container is incredibly secure meaning your possessions will be safe and away from harm from the elements.

Sussex Transport provide a full service for this: We can supply a container to fit your needs and we can transport the container through all parts of the move. The only thing you will have to do is fill and empty the container. We are fully insured for all aspects as well, which not all companies are and we are proud of this fact.

If you are considering using a container for your next house move or you know someone who is moving soon, get in touch with us on 0800 915 23 23 or use one of our online forms and we can discuss how we can help you.
