June Longer Trailer

The consultation period of 2 months into whether longer trailer limits could be imposed comes to an end on 21st June this year.
The Department of Transport will then announce whether increasing the maximum length of a trailer will be approved, allowing haulage companies to carry loads on15.65m long trailers in line with other European restrictions.
There is, however concern over the proposed height limit of 4.57 due to the danger of string cross winds!
Hauliers are keen to see the extra 2.05m trailer lengths, enabling increased capacity for pallet numbers, although this would beg the question of cost implications of buying new, longer trailers as well as the outlay involved in disposing of the old.
Sussex Transport currently offer deliveries in 13.6m trailers and a full range of their vehicles can be found at www.sussextransport.com
