Shipping Containers, Logistics and Golf are three of our favourite things and as this years DP World Tour (was European Tour) kicked off we’ve really enjoyed what DP World have done so far.
Last week we shared a container challenge update and video, and this week we’re bringing you a little information about another initiative.
Interesting uses for containers always make us smile. Not only do we lift, shift and position shipping containers on a daily basis, we also supply and hire them to customers through our Container division ST Containers.
So what have DP World been up to?
Well, this time they’ve got themselves a shipping container, replaced the sides with clear perspex, and teamed up with Callaway Golf to start a great golf ball collection.
This container will spend the 2022 DP World Tour season collecting and subsequently redistributing used golf balls to grass-roots golf all over, giving them a second life.
A container is said to be able to hold around 200,000 golf balls, and is said to weigh approximately 12,000kg when full.
Check out the video below where you can watch DP World Tour pros and Callaway Staff Professionals Thomas Bjørn, Marc Warren, Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Sami Välimäki have a go at chipping balls into the container.
