The oldest person arrested for the violence and looting in London is aged 70, police have said. The unnamed man was held in connection with the theft from a shop in West Ealing and was released after receiving a police caution.
Despite the riots, Ealing still retains its thriving café culture and night life entertainment. The town centre also offers a range of restaurants to suit all tastes and price ranges. Councillors in Ealing have been awarded a grant of £20,000 to assist in the clear up following the riots and state “We’ve been overwhelmed with offers of support, but one of the best way people can help is quite simply to shop, eat and drink locally.”
